We are no longer accepting new enrollments for the 2018-19 school year. We will begin enrollment for fall classes in June. Those with currently enrolled students may still pay tuition above.

Classes are OPEN ENROLLMENT year round until full.

Tuition is paid monthly.

Intermediate Level is for students ages 11 to 18.

To sign up for a class, simply pay the first month's tuition. An email requesting registration information will be sent separately (and the form may also be found on the website). Classes are open enrollment until full. If you are allowed to add the class to your cart, that means there is a spot available. Individual classes are 55 minutes long. Combo classes are 1 hour 55 minutes long, with a 5 minute break halfway through.

Class Descriptions:

Intermediate Level acting classes explore acting techniques, creativity, improv, and imagination. Students will learn how to speak clearly, create characters, and become comfortable working with and in front of others. Theatre games and exercises will be used to teach skills in a fun and interactive way. Acting classes last 55 minutes.

Intermediate Level Musical Theatre classes will focus on various styles of singing for musical theatre. Intermediate level choreography will also be incorporated. Theatre games and vocal techniques will be taught. Songs learned will be from the musical theatre repertoire. Musical Theatre classes last 55 minutes.

Combo Classes are 2 hours long and include an hour of Acting and an hour of Musical Theatre. 

Once your child has attended class, our staff will evaluate them, and sort them into their individual groups (example: Black Group, White Group, Yellow Group) based on knowledge, skill, and ability. 

***NOTE*** Parents of RETURNING STUDENTS: We will take into consideration what classes your child was in last year when making our group choices.

Utah Children's Theatre reserves the right to split, cancel or combine classes based on enrollment.

All classes are taught at Utah Children's Theatre 3605 S. State Street in South Salt Lake or our new Studio building next door at 3601 S. State. Student check in is at the Studio building.

To avoid contact with our staff we encourage purchases online. 

The Soda Fountain is currently closed. Limited concessions may be served.

No tickets or programs will be given at this time. A PDF version of the program will be available online. 

We have limited the number of seats available to reserve to allow for distancing inside the theatre. 


You may either purchase online, at our theatre or call our Box Office at 801-532-6000 during box office hours. Purchases may be made at the door prior to the performance depending on availability. There are no fees for purchasing online. All tickets, are held at the Box Office to be picked up 30 minutes prior to show time.

Seating is currently general admission. We will be changing to reserve seating in the near future.

Ticket exchanges are $5 per exchange (subject to availability) and must be made 48 hrs in advance of either the performance you plan to see or the performance you're are exchanging tickets from. You can only exchange for tickets within the same show title.

It is our policy to not issue refunds or exchanges for missed shows. Earlybird Season Ticket holders receive one (1) free exchange per production title, Premium Season Ticket Holders receive two (2) per production title and Gold Season Ticket Holder receive three (3) per production title.

4 years of age and up is the general recommendation Parker Theatre, but may depend on the show. Parents will need to make the decision as to whether their child is old enough to enjoy the performance while not disturbing other audience members. Some shows may be more appropriate for older children, while other’s for younger. To see recommendations for a specific show please visit the show page on our website. Babies & toddlers will not be admitted. All patrons must have a ticket.

Will Call and the theatre will open 30 minutes before our performances.

Parking lots are on the North and South side of our building. There is also ample free street parking.

Seating is general admission. The theatre is comprised of three seating sections, center (the largest) with smaller left and right stage seating sections. 

We make an effort to start our shows on time. In most cases we will seat latecomers at the first convenient break in the performance. Latecomers will be seated in designated seating. In the case of some performances we may not be able to seat you until intermission due to the orientation of our theatre.

The Soda Fountain entrance is to the left of the main outside entrance. The Soda Fountain is owned and operated by Parker Theatre. We recommend preordering and picking up at the Box Office at intermission to avoid long lines. You may bring your treats into the theatre.


Please do not bring outside food or beverages into the theatre. They can be distracting and cause problems for clean up. Our concessions also help support our house staff and non profit organization. Thank you.

Cell phones noises and screens are distracting to those around you and the performers. Please turn them to silent or off. The performances are property of The Children's Theatre or in partnership with licensing companies. Photography, video or audio recording of any kind is strictly prohibited by law. 

Chronically noisy or loud children should be taken to the lobby.

Intermission is approximately 15 minutes. Baked goods, and house made drinks & treats are offered in the Soda Fountain before the performance and at intermission and after performances. Quick treats are available at the concessions counter in the lobby. Concessions are allowed in the theatre. NO OUTSIDE FOOD PERMITTED

Please contact 48hrs prior to the performance so that we may remove our accessible seats and reserve seats next to the area we accommodate wheelchairs.

Gift Certificates can be redeemed online, by phone or in person. Parker Theatre does not receive your GC number. It is automatically generated and sent to the email provided upon checkout.
