Q. How do I fill out the KIDDDO information for drop off and pick up?

Q. How do I sign my child in and out of class?

A. You may either download the KIDDDO app to your phone or use the Kiosks in the lobby of the Studio Building. Please make sure to sign both in and out. Give your 6 digit code to any who will be signing your child in or out, and make sure they are on the approved guardian list.

Q. Where do I drop off/pick up my child? 

A. Students should be dropped off and picked up at the Utah Children's Theatre Studio Building, located at 3601 S. State Street. This building is next door and to the north of the Main Theatre. Please do not drop off students any earlier than 10 minutes before class starts. Late pick up may result in an additional charge. We lock the doors 10 minutes after class ends. Most classes end at 25 after the hour. (Theatre Beginnings ends at 15 after the hour.)

Q. How do I pay tuition? When is tuition due?

A. Tuition is due every month, by your child's first class of the month. A late fee may be assessed if the tuition is not paid on time. We now have an autopay option! Simply log in to your account online at http://www.uctheatre.org, add the class(es) your child is enrolled in, and there will be an option to sign up for autopay. You may also pay tuition in person during theatre school, or by calling 801-532-6000 between 2 pm and 7 pm Tuesday through Friday.

Q. What discounts do you offer on Theatre School?

A. We offer the following discounts on theatre school classes: 

Season Ticket Holder Discount of 10% off all classes. (Log in to your account and the discount should automatically appear. You may also pay in person or over the phone. Please mention you are a season ticket holder.) We use scenes from our current season in theatre school instruction, so having season tickets is not only a fun family activity, it will help your child in theatre school, too!

Combo Class Discount. All after school students who take both an acting and music class get a $5 discount on each class. (The combo class is $80 instead of $90.) Make sure to click on the combo class option to get the discount.

Q. What dates will theatre school be closed? 

A. Theatre school will be closed on the following dates for the 2018-2019 school year:

October 16-19 for Fall Break

October 31 for Halloween (students may come on Oct. 30 or Nov 1 for a make-up class if desired)

November 20-23 for Thanksgiving

December 24-January 4 for Winter Break

March 26-29 for Spring Break

(Home school classes will have a longer winter break of December 8 through January 10.)

Q. What if my child has to miss a class?

A. While we hope students are able to attend all their classes, sometimes conflicts arise. When this happens, you may schedule a make-up class for your child. If possible, it should be on the same week they will miss class, as the curriculum will match what they would have learned. We do not offer refunds if a child misses class.

Q. Do you charge less tuition on the months with fewer classes?

A. No. Tuition is paid monthly and is always the same amount, regardless of how many weeks of instruction are in a month. (Months may have 3, 4 or 5 weeks of instruction.) For convenience in budgeting, the tuition has been broken up into the same monthly amount, based on the total weeks of instruction, not the weeks in one month.

Q. Can I sit in on my child's class?

A. No. Having parents in the room distracts not only your child, but other children. You may wait in the Studio lobby during your child's class, or you may leave and come back. There is a window in the lobby where you may observe the warm ups for all classes.

Q. Where can I park?

A. Parking is very convenient at Utah Children's Theatre. There are parking lots on the north and south sides of the Main Theatre, as well as free street parking.

Q. When will my child perform? Will they be part of the Mainstage productions?

A. The Mainstage season is separate from theatre school, although we do encourage parents to purchase season tickets, as we will be using scenes from the shows as part of our teaching instruction. Students are welcome to audition for Mainstage shows that include children, and many of our experienced theatre students do make it in to these productions. 

Theatre school is broken up into 4 quarters, with specific teaching objectives each quarter. At the end of each quarter, students will have an in-class performance for peers. At the end of the year (in May) students will have a recital for parents.
