We are no longer accepting new enrollments for the 2018-19 school year. We will begin enrollment for fall classes in June. Those with currently enrolled students may still pay tuition above.

Advanced Level is audition only. You must have auditioned and been accepted into the program to sign up for Advanced Level. Auditions for fall 2018 will be held in late August/early September. If you are interested in auditioning, please contact Jana Cox at

You may sign up for all other classes (Beginning, Elementary, and Intermediate) without an audition. Contact the Theatre School Administrator at to set up an audition for advanced classes.

Advanced Acting is an upper division class for students who already have a firm acting foundation and are looking for more advanced training. You must audition or have approval by the Theatre School Administrator. 

Performance and Production -This is an advanced company made up of skilled actors who are ready to take on more advanced training in acting and production. This is a year long class and actors will have multiple opportunities to perform through out the year. You must continue to take an acting class while you are in Performance and Production. Your child must be at least age 11 by auditions. *other fees may apply 

We consider being enrolled in the Advanced Level a privilege. We expect all of our students to be focused and committed to honing their acting craft. If your child is enrolled in the advance level classes you and your child must sign a behavior and attendance contract that will be issued at the first meeting.

Utah Children's Theatre reserves the right to split, cancel or combine classes based on enrollment.

All classes are taught at Utah Children's Theatre 3605 S. State Street and next door at our new Studio building 3601 S. State. Student check in is at the Studio building.

You may either purchase online, at our theatre or call our Box Office at 801-532-6000 during box office hours. Purchases may be made at the door prior to the performance depending on availability. There are no fees for purchasing online. All tickets, are held at the Box Office to be picked up 30 minutes prior to show time.

Ticket exchanges are $2.50 per ticket exchange (subject to availability) and must be made 48 hrs in advance of either the performance you plan to see or the performance your are exchanging tickets from. You can only exchange for tickets within the same show title.

When you purchase tickets it is like buying a airline ticket. We are reserving your spot for you. It is our policy to not issue refunds or exchanges for missed shows. Earlybird Season Ticket holders receive one (1) free exchange per production title, Premium Season Ticket Holders receive two (2) per production title and Gold Season Ticket Holder receive three (3) per production title.

4 years of age and up is the general recommendation of Utah Children’s Theatre. However parents will need to make the decision as to whether their child is old enough to enjoy the performance while not disturbing other audience members. Some shows may be more appropriate for older children, while other’s for younger. To see recommendations for a specific show please visit the show page on our website. Babies & toddlers will not be admitted. All patrons must have a ticket.

Will Call and the theatre will open 30 minutes before our performances, our lobby will open 45 minutes prior to show time. 

Parking lots are on the North and South side of our building. There is also ample free street parking.

Seating is general admission. The theatre is comprised of three seating sections, center (the largest) with smaller left and right stage seating sections. 

We make an effort to start our shows on time. In most cases we will seat latecomers at the first convenient break in the performance. Latecomers will be seated in designated seating. In the case of some performances we may not be able to seat you until intermission due to the orientation of our theatre.

The Soda Fountain entrance is to the left of the main outside entrance. The Soda Fountain is owned and operated by Utah Children's Theatre. We recommend preordering and picking up at the Box Office at intermission to avoid long lines. You may bring your treats into the theatre.

Outside food and drinks are not permitted in the lobby or theatre. 

Cell phones noises and screens are distracting to those around you and the performers. Please turn them to silent or off. The performances are property of The Children's Theatre or in partnership with licensing companies. Photography, video or audio recording of any kind is strictly prohibited by law. 

Chronically noisy or loud children should be taken out of the auditorium.

Intermission is approximately 15 minutes. Baked goods, and house made drinks & treats are offered in the Soda Fountain before the performance and at intermission and after performances. Quick treats are available at the concessions counter in the lobby. UCT concessions are allowed in the theatre. NO OUTSIDE FOOD PERMITTEDThe Soda Fountain and Concessions Counter purchases support our non-profit mission.

Please contact 48hrs prior to the performance so that we may remove our accessible seats and reserve seats next to the area we accommodate wheelchairs.

Gift Certificates can be redeemed online, by phone or in person. UCT does not receive your GC number. It is automatically generated and sent to the email provided upon checkout. Gift Cards may only be purchased in person and may be redeemed online or in person.

Become familiar with the story. Read it in parts or in full with your children. 

With some stories there are movie versions you can preview to see if it is appropriate for your child.

Strobe and lighting effects may be used along with sound and sound effects.

The UCT stage is fairly intimate, with seating on three sides for the stage. The actors can come very close to the audience.
